The Mental Health Association Call Center is recruiting volunteer call specialists to assist us in providing a critical, life-saving service in our region. The call center answers local, state, and national lines to provide information and referral, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and supportive listening to individuals in our area. We operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year and need dedicated team members interested in making sure we can answer every call!
If you are calm in a crisis, have the ability to really listen and understand, and can commit to a minimum of 4 hours each week you may be a fit for this opportunity! The ability to multi-task is highly desirable. Contact our volunteer coordinator to learn more about the application process and find out if your background is a fit for this volunteer position. Selected candidates will participate in our 40 hour training class and a 15 hour apprenticeship to acquire the necessary skills to join the team. The anticipated start date of our next class is Tuesday, August 29, 2016.
